Famous brands boost Shenyang economy

Products with famous brand titles in Shenyang, capital of Northeast
China's Liaoning Province, realized 3.64 billion yuan in sales and 1.52
billion yuan in profits, up six and 18.5 percent respectively from the
same period last year, accounting for 17.9 and 38.9 percent of the
industrial enterprises above designated size in Shenyang.

Shenyang's brand promotion stratagem speeded up optimizing its industrial
structures and product competitiveness and helped promote equipment
manufacturing industry, auto and auto parts, electronic information,
pharmaceutical and chemical, metallurgy, construction materials and light
industries.

A famous brand promotion committee consists of 21 communities and
government departments was established to promote famous brands.

Twenty brand-related experts and scholars from local universities and
research institutions also provided academic and technology supports to
boost local famous brands.

The government also formed a mechanism in fauour of cultivating famous
brands, it donated one million yuan, 100,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan to the
products which ranked in China Famous Brand, Liaoning Famouns Brand and
Shenyang Famous Brand lists.

Anonther favourable support policies are avaliable for famous brands such
as subsidies, patent protection, promoting Shenyang's famous brands
development.

Shenyang set 30 China famous brands, 200 Liaoning famous brands and 300
Shenyang famous brands as its development goal during 11th Five-Year
Program (2006-2010).

The city has 11, 67 and 158 products with China Famous Brand, Liaoning
Famous Brand and Shenyang Famous Brand titles so far.
