China to cultivate instructors on marriage and family

Instructors on marriage and family are popular in the West, where 500
citizens have one on the average. While in China they are very few. (file

Chinanews, Beijing, July 14 �C Recently, All-China Women's Federation and
China International Marriage & Family Association jointly launched
training programs for instructors on marriage and family. A series of
training courses have firstly started in Changchun and Guangzhou. Those
trainees will receive registered certificates after passing examinations
in late July.
Li Men, an instructor from Jilin Psychoanalysis Center for Women and
Teenagers, believed that the rate of stable family and marriage in China
was less than 30%. More than 70% of Chinese families had various problems
such as extramarital relations, divorce, single-parent children, domestic
violence, etc. Currently the traditional Chinese family structure is
facing grim challenges.
Instructors on marriage and family are popular in the West, where 500
citizens have one on the average. While in China they are very few.
In China, such instructors mainly give guidance to couples in four
categories: First is the brides and bridegrooms--to teach them knowledge
of marriage and love. Second, married for 1-2 years and having
difficulties adapting to their new life--to help them solve various
family problems. Third, after the couples have children and thus heavy
family burdens-- to teach them how to share family duties. Forth, couples
claiming that their marriage is over--to give them psychological and
financial guidance.
Experts believe the emergence of instructors on marriage and family not
only will help to provide new job opportunities for citizens, but also
improve the qualities of marriage and thus build a harmonious society.
